Prayer for Community

Lord Jesus, by the will of the Father and the work of the Holy Spirit,

Grant us the faith and wisdom to build a healthy community

dedicated to spiritual growth, inclusion, care and justice.

help us to reach out with love and support to our neighbours,

especially those most vulnerable and marginalized.

As a parish community, may we always direct our efforts to benefit the

common good.

This we pray through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, our mother. Amen

St. Paul, St. Francis, St. Clare

R: Be our companions on the journey

Dear Friends,

Greetings from the Catholic Churches in the DownTown East Side!

For the benefit of those who are new to the area, or for various reasons have been estranged from a worshipping community, we want to invite you to reflect on your Spiritual Life.

We believe that we can be enriched by your talents, your gifts and your friendship. We know that we can strengthen you in your relationship with God and help you as an individual or as family, to find the full life that Christ came to bring.

Whether you are a Catholic who has been hurt by a lack of compassion by clergy or fellow parishioners or perhaps have just drifted away, I say , “WELCOME!”.

If you are someone from another faith community and want to find a place to belong, I say to you; “WELCOME!”

I know you will find our Church a welcome place. Make a commitment to yourself and God to attend worship for a month and then decide whether you want to continue. We cannot grow in our relationship with God unless we make ourselves present to God. One place to surely meet God is in the community of the Church.

If you have questions about your status as a Catholic, because of a marriage or other issues, I would be happy to visit your home. If you would just like a visit from a parishioner or priest, let us know.

If you would like to attend a session with others where you are free to ask questions regarding spiritual life or Church practice you are invited to express that desire by phone.

Fr. Ken
